Rudeles

SPAIN – RIBERA DEL DUERO
RUDELES’ WINES ARE SO POPULAR HERE IN CHINA. THE WINES ARE FULL BODIED AND THE TANNINS ARE SO SILKY. RUDELES CRAFTS VERSATILE WINES FOR ALL DRINKERS, AND I THINK THEY GO PARTICULARLY WELL WITH CHINESE FOOD. - Li Ze

Located in Spain’s Ribera Del Duero region, Rudeles is a small boutique winery with only 15 hectares distributed over 60 plots. Rudeles is a family business, one which was founded to build upon the passion and labour of the owners’ fathers and grandfathers and develop the wine culture which had almost disappeared in this particular area. Rudeles has four owners and all of them have strong ties to Peñalba: Antonio Ruperez, Javier Ruperez, Juan Martín del Hoyo and Marcos Espinel. The name Rudeles comes from the first letters of the names of the four owners: Ruperez, del Hoyo and Espinel. Cultivating Tempranillo, Grenache and Albillo, the winery has the distinction of being the only estate growing one hundred year-old Grenache in the region, which produces rich, complex and aromatic yet elegant Spanish wines.
